In our master of education MEd program in human sexuality studies, you'll take the inside track to a future as an educator, clinician, therapist, and sexuality professional. This program trains professionals in the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to work with individuals and groups around the myriad sensitive issues in human sexuality.
In addition to working collaboratively with community educators, teachers, therapists, clinicians, and writers, you will also be trained in social justice education, research methodologies, curriculum development, clinical research, teaching strategies, assessment and intervention, and culturally appropriate program design.

Field placements are located where you live, and students who live more than two hours away from campus can attend their practicum class through video conferencing. The sexuality and public policy track of the MEd in Human Sexuality Studies program prepares students to work at the intersection of policy, advocacy and sexuality. Policies set at the local, state, and federal levels impact the scope of individual rights, as well as access to information and quality services in the fields of sexuality, reproductive rights and sexual health.
Students pursuing this track will gain greater understanding of the dynamic and complex policy sector and build skills to effectively advocate for positive change. The program includes a practicum component where students will spend a year working in a professional setting to get real-world experiences that sets them up for success. The non-profit management track is for individuals seeking to advance their skills as leaders of non-profit and non-governmental organizations that work in the sexuality sector and the related areas across the United States i.

The size of the school, like the size of any community, also has a direct bearing on the campus atmosphere. At a small college, there is usually a smaller athletics budget, fewer staff and probably a fewer number of sanctioned sports.
Working in the athletics department of a small college you may end up multi-tasking: ticket sales, athletic sponsorships, gameday operations, department administration. There are thousands of places to choose from, all the way from the nearest Community College to the Ivy League.
If your taste is for a big institution and opportunity to choose your own career ladder, get to the big school. It may take years to become the head of the department, but large athletics departments have many staffers doing very specific jobs.

So here are some examples for comparison. At many large colleges, where student bodies reach 32, or more, a Department of Intercollegiate Athletics can have 20 or more competitive sports. With each sport, of course, there are a number of coaches, graduate assistant coaches, administrators to help in the office, handle NCAA compliance issues, manage athlete recruiting, and so forth.
There are 20 Varsity Intercollegiate Sports programs. Athletic Training is considered an allied medical profession, and has a large staff to provide medical support services to the athletes. At perhaps the other end of the scale there is community college athletics. ECC teams play two-year and four-year college teams from all over the Northeast. Beyond the intercollegiate sports many colleges and universities offer jobs within their Intramural or Recreational sports departments.
